May to September is the best season, with the high season in July for the Naadam Festival. August and September are also suitable months of the year, our climate is such that you will still have many sunny days at this time.

Mongolia has one of the lowest crime rates in the world and people are known for their nomadic hospitality and kindness and they will make you feel very welcome. But when you are in the street of Ulaanbaatar city, you have to watch your bag and wallet unless there are many pickpockets around.

Warm and thin layers of clothing, waterproof jacket, good walking boots, sandals and a hat and/or headscarf to protect you from the sun and winds. Don’t forget insect repellent, sun cream, lip-gloss and first aid kit (medicine for headache, cold, diarrhea, runny nose; bandages; any medicine prescribed for you ) and camera equipment.

Mutton, rice and noodles form the basis of the Mongolian diet, so your meals will be based around this. Besides that, you can have vegetables, butter, cheese, jam, bread and cookies and everything of daily food products on the tour. Of course, you can taste some traditional Mongolian food when you visit nomadic families and once you can have traditional barbeque which is named horhog. During the package tour, you will have a lunch in the finest local restaurants on the way and the dinner is cooked by the tour guide. If you are vegetarian or other dietary requirements, please let us know in advance and we will make an arrangement for you then.

No vaccinations are required. . Water from the river or well are safe to drink but mineral water is recommended. We will supply 1.5litre of mineral water daily during your trip.

US Dollars are often accepted, especially in Ulaanbaatar, but it is also useful to carry some cash in the local currency, the Tugrik. Any bank in Mongolia will be more than happy to exchange your currency.

Several banks accept and issue Travelers Check. But Credit cards are preferred over traveler's cheques. You can also withdraw cash from any ATM in all major towns. Visa, MasterCard, American Express and JCB card are acceptable. It is almost impossible to use your credit cards in the countryside.

We accept Visa and MasterCard as methods of payment.

How many of people joining on the tour will depend on your request (price and car choice). Of course, the price will be lower as many as people join with you. About the car, you will travel in a Russian jeep or Japanese jeep( 2 to 3 travelers plus guide and driver) and a Russian or Korean minivan (up to 6 travelers plus guide and driver).

We use Russian or Japanese 4WD jeeps and 4WD minivans staffed by experienced drivers and skilled tour guide /cooks/interpreters. All drivers are qualified mechanics and carry spare parts.

We only use animals in excellent health which have been trained to do long and arduous treks. For the camel and horse trekking tours, you will be taken care of by local guides who provide horses, or camels as pack animals and even our guides will assist with riding lessons if you are new to horse or camel trekking.

For a more authentic experience, we will arrange for you to stay with nomadic families, who will offer you Mongolian traditional food and are happy to join in evening discussions about their way of life. Your tour guides will help you to connect with nomad people, explain and translate the expressions.

We are at very good location in the center of the city, 2 minutes walking to the west from State Department store, 10 minutes walking to the north from Railway station or you may take the bus from Chinggis Khan airport. The bus number 8 and 22 are taken you straight to the Peace Avenue and you can find the address, Khongor guest house & tours easily along the main road.
